Corporate and Operating Structure
Australia, established to develop a separate company focused on an iron-ore export solution. The proposed infrastructure is designed to support the export of approximately 5 Mtpa of iron ore from the Robe Mesa and Paulsen’s mine sites through the Ashburton Port at Onslow, positioning the facility as a potential additional iron-ore export port in the Pilbara and incorporating dust-controlled transhipment technology.
The project is intended to provide smaller mining companies with an integrated pathway to export markets. CZR’s primary development asset, the Yarraloola Project, is proposed as a foundation customer for the Ashburton Link, with an anticipated supply of approximately 3.4 Mtpa of iron ore for export markets. Construction is stated to target first shipment in early 2027.
Under the proposed logistics chain, iron ore from CZR’s Yarraloola Project (66.7%) and Miracle Iron’s Paulsen’s East Project (33.3%) would be transported by road train to the Onslow Hub, a central stockyard located approximately 75 km from the Port of Ashburton. From the hub, ore would be transported to the port and loaded through a purpose-built bulk-handling facility.
Landside Infratructure
- New overtaking lanes north and south of the Onslow Hub to facilitate safer movement of heavy vehicles.
- Enclosed 12,000 t storage facility and purpose-built mobile ship loader.
- East Quay conveyor and transhipment vessel (TSV) loading system.
- Front-end-loader reclaim system within the storage shed.
- Covered conveyors, dust collectors and water-based dust suppression systems.
- Associated ancillary infrastructure.
Transhipment Vessel
Approximately 60 m performance-based standards (PBS) super-quad trucks with a payload capacity of approximately 142 t of iron ore. The proposed configuration is intended to reduce the number of vehicles required and lower rollover risk relative to smaller road-train configurations.
A 12,000-t deadweight, self-propelled and self-unloading MV Whyalla transhipment vessel (TSV), with a stated unloading capacity of approximately 4,000 tph.
